The brilliant rays of the afternoon sun shone right through the curtains. The fresh air filled my lungs and I felt refreshed and exhilarated. I was struggling to finish my homework for the weekend. After a while, I felt sleepy so I went to my bed to take a short nap before continuing my weekend homework.
After about half an hour, a series of furious knocks on the door startled me from my afternoon nap. Feeling immensely irritated, I strode to the door and opened it.
“Who is that?” I ask in an irritated tone as I opened the door. Finding no one at the door, I closed it, thinking that it might just be a prank.
Just as I was going back to my room to continue my nap, I heard the knocks on the door again. Fuming with anger, I went to open the door but saw nobody outside.
“Boo!” a voice shouted just as I was about to close the door. My heart jumped. I saw a mop of black and beige and then a face pop up.
“Sally!” I cried out in shock, “Weren’t you in America?”
Sally was my best friend who had migrated to America a year ago because her father’s boss had sent him to America to work for two and a half years. Both of us were very sad when we learnt that we had to leave each other. No word could describe our sorrow. On the day she was leaving, I went personally to the airport to bid her farewell, sobbing sorrowfully. It was the saddest day of my life.
“Well, it’s now school holiday in America, so I asked my parents to bring me to Singapore to visit you.” Sally replied in a familiar voice I hadn’t heard in one whole year, “And I am sorry if I did knock the door a little too hard, I tried pressing the door bell but no sound came out. I guess your door bell had spoilt.”
“Never mind about that,” I asked, “but why didn’t you tell me that you were coming to Singapore? Have you forgotten my phone number?”
“No, I didn’t forget you phone number. I just want to give you a surprise.” Sally replied, smiling mischievously.
In my excitement, I had forgotten to let Sally in. I quickly invited Sally into the house. We seated on the sofa and I gave her a cup of water to drink. My eyes glittered with tears of happiness when I saw my best friend. We hugged each other, crying uncontrollably. After a while, we wiped away our tears and started chatting about what we done in the year. She told me that her parents had some business to attend to in their company in Singapore and couldn’t come to visit my parents and I. Later, she handed me some presents and my favourite food she had bought for me. I learnt from her that she would be staying in Singapore for half a month and she could spend the night in my house today if my parents allowed.
When my parents came home from their shopping spree, I explained to them the reason of Sally’s sudden visit. They were surprise and happy at the sight of her. I seek permission from them asking if Sally could stay in the house tonight. At first, they hesitated, but seeing how happy Sally and I are to be together again and they do not want to disappoint me, they agreed. We jumped for joy when we heard the great news.
After dinner, we played our favourite board game, ‘Monopoly’, in my bedroom before going to sleep at midnight. I planned to bring Sally to our favourite places in Singapore during the two weeks.

My Reflection for IPW
I learn about how to present our work and how to get along with others. At first, when I first started doing the Project Work, I can’t get along with my group members quite well because we can’t decide on what kind of robot we are advertising and what are the functions of the robot. We also have different ideas for the storyline need for advertisement we are supposed to make. In the end, we choose the entertainment robot. However, no one wanted to act as a robot, so, we decided to use Yu Xin’s Lego pieces to build the robot. Then, we assigned two members, Yu Xin and me, to do the storyline.
After the storyline was done, we have to find time to gather together to film the video using Yun Xi’s video camera and we decide to do that on Friday. On that day, however, Yun Xi suddenly said that her mother did not let her bring her video camera. So, we have to use my digital camera, which could film short video, to film the advertisement and we decided to gather again on Monday and Tuesday to finish the advertisement and the Presentation. On Monday, Yiyuan couldn’t stay back because she has CCA and Yu Xin is ill. So, Jessica acted in the advertisement while Yun Xi moved the robot using the handle at the back of the robot. Then, Jessica and I did part of the presentation. At that time, I was very worried that we can’t finish the Project Work. The next day, Yun Xi couldn’t stay back so we gave her the video I film for her to edit at home. The rest of us did the presentation and I wrote the script. Finally, we finished presentation and the advertisement.
The technical skill I learnt is how to edit a video using Windows Movie Maker. However, I encounter some problems during the process. The computer is too slow and it kept hanging when editing the video. Sometimes, I had to close the whole programme and start all over again because the computer had hanged.
On the day before the presentation, I read the script again and try to present in front of the mirror without looking at the script. On the presentation day, I felt very nervous. I tried very hard to keep eye contact with the audience. I was scared that I suddenly forgot what I was supposed to say. I was also scared that I pronounced any words wrongly, which explains why I am speaking very softly and not very clear. I was glad that the presentation has enough information despite the grammatical errors. We will try to change the grammatical errors we make and put the company logo and tagline on every slide in the future. As for the video, we didn’t put lots of music because we couldn’t find ant nice music.

Tears well up in my eyes when I saw my best friend. We hugged each other, crying uncontrollably. After a while, We wiped away our tears.
“I am sorry if I had knock the door too hard,” Sally said suddenly, “I tried pressing the door bell but no sound came out. I guess your door bell had spoilt.”
“Never mind,” I asked, “but why didn’t you tell me that you are coming to Singapore? Have you forgotten my phone number?”

We chatted for a long while. Just then, my parents returned home from their shopping trip. They were surprised to see Sally so I told them what had happened.
"Oh!” my mother exclaimed, “Then are you staying for the night or are you going back to your hotel?”
“I am staying at your house for the night,” she said, smiling, “I have already asked my parent.”
I felt very happy when I heard that she is staying for the night. Later in the evening, I learnt from her that she would be staying in Singapore for a week.
I planned to bring Sally to our favourite places and around Singapore during the week.

I was sleeping zzzz... when I heard sounds above me. (My sister, who sleep at the bottom bed, change position with me, who sleep on top, on her birthday.)I woke up and found my sister and brother making STUPID noises. So I tickle them and then woke up to brush my teeth, wash my face and blahblahblah. After that my mother say she bringing me out to eat and then go shopping. WALAO!! GO SHOPPING FOR WHAT!!! I DON'T WANT LEH!!!!! WHY MUST GO STUPID ROOMS AND SPENT 3 WHOLE HOURS THERE CHOOSING CLOTHES! So my mother let me go library (YAY!) and bring handphone so that after shopping can call me. So, I put handphone in my pocket and went. BUT SHE DIDN'T BRING ME TO LIBARY OR EVEN GO SHOPPING @ ALL! Okay...that's good... But then I went home then go bathe and FORGOTTEN to take out my handphone and AHLAHMAK! It went into washing machine and SPOILT! SHIT!
Okay... Whatever. That is my fault anyway.

We will post advertisements on television’ intervals, newspaper and posters, just in case some people are attracted to them. Our products are colourful and nice to see at and can lose for a long time as mentioned earlier.
Xing Yue: Our robot includes telephone ability. We have also MP3 software on our website. You can download it into your robot for all MP3 fans.
Jessica: Here are the problems we face; we have trouble finding a video camera. We had trouble finding time to gather together. Members are very shy to act. Here are the solutions to our problems; Borrowed a digital camera from Xing Yue. We did separate work and pool together our research. At the last minute, two members agreed to act.
