A Skit - Good Friends

A new way of tachign ORAL and train us to speak up. Each group is supposed to put up a skit on different topic. For my group, it is good friends and I am in charge of writing the script.

Cast:

Narrator one - Girlfrommars
Narrator two - Jessica

Kelvin - Yi Lun
Dave - Neel
Erik - Chenghao

Nicole - Vishalini
Alicia - Jie Min

Story:
Narrator one: A good friend is the person whom you clicked the most in terms of interest and topics cohesiveness. He would always stood up for you whenever you faced difficulties with the people around you. He would always know what you want for lunch and would always wait for you with an umbrella after school. Here are two examples showing what good friends really are.

Kelvin and Dave are good friends who always hang out together. Kelvin thought that Dave was his good friend, one that will stick to him forever, until one fateful incident…

(Yilun and Neel enter and start to run around, With Neel trying to catch Yilun. Neel finally caught up with Yilun and in the hurry to catch him; he accidentally pushed him onto the ground. Yilun felt a sharp pain in his legs.)

Kelvin had fractured his legs and had to be hospitalised for three weeks. However, the year-end examinations are in one month’s time.

(Yilun lying on two chairs joint together, groaning in pain. Neel enters. Neel laughed at Yilun’s plight. Yilun felt heartbroken that his friend treats him like this. Neel exit and Chenghao enters. )

Kelvin was heartbroken at his friend’s remarks. Just then Erik, the quietest boy in class enters the ward.

(Chenghao hold a book and teach Yilun what the teacher had taught them during classes. Yilun realised that Dave was a fair weather friend and Chenghao was really his good friend,. Yilun patted Chenghao on the back and exited.)

Narrator two: A good friend would be there when we are shattered in total darkness. Good friends would never ask you to do dangerous things like smoking and drug taking. Instead, he would chid you for your mistakes and help you to right your bad habits.
Nicole and Alicia were good friends. Even though Nicole was a more social-type and was talkative while Alicia was more to the shy and quiet side, Nicole chose Alicia as her good friend.

(Visha offered a cigarette to Jie Min. Jie Min appears shock. Visha urged her to try the cigarette and told her not to be a wet blanket. Jie Min reprimanded Visha for smoking, which would cause harm to herself and people around her. Visha hang her head low in remorse and apologise to Jie Min. She promised never to offer her harmful stuffs. Jie Min forgives Nicole and helped her overcome her smoking habit.)

The end! Special credits to FISHY!

A Letter from my ANGEL

Mrs Chan had recently had this "Mortal and Angel" thing in class. We are supposed to pick a name randomly and keep the name secret. I picked a girl's. We have to send out at least a letter per week, the 'angel' can either encourage the his mortal or chid him if he done something wrong. However, he can't reveal his name.

Though this is the third week already and I have send out three letter to my mortal, I have only received one yesterday from my angel:

Hello
Sprry for not writing to u, jy (jiayou) for prelims & PSLE! U can do it!

Bye,
Your angel

It was obvious from the untidy handwriting that the person is a boy. But who is he?

Current Events

All the events of the past few weeks and a short discription to please you all.

Skit Put Up by my Class
It was kind of hilarious and interesting. And there wasn't any voice over stuffs. I hate having voice overs. And one funny part about the skit is how the judges (acted by Yilun, Darren and Shenchen) said words like "Amazing", "Fantastic", "Awesome, in those kind of comedy tone.
The skit is on the NE message "We must uphold meritocracy and incorruptbility"

Skit Put Up by 6U&L
The only funny part about this skit if the chracters intro. Some people dress totally different from their personalities. Christalle is one of the narraters!

Math Trail
There was a Math Trail, not exactly a competition but rather a activity where pupils from different schools and level come together to solve Math Problems around IMM. I hate it quite. I was made to solve every problem, most which are so easy. Those secondary school guy should be able to solve it. But they just push the work to this little poor kid typing here.

Not much that I could remember. So I will end teh post here.

'World's oldest blogger' dies in Australia

SYDNEY (AFP) - An Australian woman described as the world's oldest Internet blogger has died at the age of 108 after posting a final message about singing "a happy song" in her nursing home.

Olive Riley "passed away peacefully on July 12 and will be mourned by thousands of Internet friends and hundreds of descendants and other relatives," a note on her website said.

Riley had posted more than 70 entries on her blog since February last year, sharing her thoughts on modern life and her experiences living through the entire 20th century.

Born on October 20 1899, she lived through two world wars and raised three children while doing various jobs, including ranch cook and barmaid.

In her final post on June 26, she wrote: "I can't believe I've been here in this nursing home for more than a week.

"How the days have flown, even though I've been in bed most of the time. I still feel weak, and can't shake off that bad cough.

"Penny, who's in the next bed to mine, had a visit one day this week from her daughter, who's a professional singer. Guess what happened! She and I sang a happy song, as I do every day, and before long we were joined by several nurses, who sang along too. It was quite a concert!"

Riley's blog, initially on www.allaboutolive.com.au and more recently at http://worldsoldestblogger.blogspot.com, was "mind-blowing to her," her great grandson Darren Stone said.

"She had people communicating with her from as far away as Russia and America on a continual basis, not just once in a while," he told the national AAP news agency.

"She enjoyed the notoriety -- it kept her mind fresh."

How EVIL can Humans be

Nowadays humans are really bad, using their clever mind to commit all sorts of sins. I can't believe it. And I see no point of it. You can see the variety and amount of beautiful disease they had created, be it by deliberate or accidential.

Do they have CANCER in the past? Do they have a lot of HEART ATTACK cases in the past? Do they have drugs in the past? Do they have AID/HIV in the past? NOPE!

How about the environment? Do they have a serious case of POLLUTIONS in the past? OZONE DEPLETION? GLOBAL WARMING? Nope.

So what is the world coming to? A place plague by disease and pollutions? A place where it is just as dangerous to leave your house in broad daylight? A place where crimes are no longer a great deal (actually it is no longer anything now) and criminals roam, without having to worried being caught and policemen hid to prevent themselves from being becoming an unfortunate victim of crimes?

I guess so, and it may be bring the end of the world, sometimes, a much anticipated ending for fellow earthlings. I hope for the world, our nice and cosy home now turn into a living hell by evil people, to start over again. And if so there is really a god up there, believed by many around the world, then I request you to please, REMOVE all EVIL in the of human being. Let us start life all over again. End the world not tragically but rather, let all of us died peacefully and erased all evil in us.

It is really disheartening to know of how we, the very earthlings of the same ancestors, (well there got to be someone at the start of the world who began life on earth, someone we shared as the same ancester) can do things to harm each other. Why? Why must we do that? Why can't we just live peacefully together?

One very example is below, told to me by my chinese teacher.

A man went to Taiwan for a holiday, upon reaching there, he registered at a hotel with a tour guide and decide to rest for the day. Feeling thirsty, he reached for a drink the tour guide gave him and after drinking it, he felt a sharp pain in his stomach. Thinking that it was a tummyache, he went to the toilet but passed out shortly after. He woke up only to find a disgusting truth.

Yes, you got it. The tour guide spiked his drink and raped him. You know what? The tour guide is a man! I can never imagine it, being someone who found even a kiss revolting. (I am not exagerating).

The worst news have yet to come. Beside being raped, he also contracted HIV from the tour guide. It was not the simple HAIR IS VANISHING, if only, but the cureless disease.

That is how evil humans are. Exactly. Or maybe more.

And another was the 'popular' sport of throwing wooden rod at baby seals as hunting. It kills them and made them suffer great pain.

HELLO!? How can someone do something so cruel. I have got the pictures but it was so ... that I myself can't even bear to look at it. Should I show it to you?

Is Catching A Falling Leave Considered Lucky?

If so, I must be really LUCKY!

On the way home, A falling brushed against my shirt and I catches it, playing with it for quite a while, not realising that it is considered lucky to catch a falling leave but superstitious people until I came across Stickgal's post.

I suppose it must be a real concidence because as the picture shows it, it is never easy to catch a falling leave.

The person and the leaves are liem the like-poles of a magnet and as you know (only if you know your science), like-poles repel. The leaf always seems to fall out of your hands just as you are going to catch it. I tried it before.

You can try catching one if you like... *chuckle* And if catching a leaf is considered lucky, how bout a flower petal? Because it just happen to land on my head.

Enought of all this lucky talk. I wished I had brought more money to school so that I could buy thye ice-cream (delicious!) on teh way back. Just wathcing the others eating ice-cream is enough to get my stomach to growl. I was so hungry!

I was salivating all over the place and they could have form a large ocean which will eventually flood the Earth and bring round the end of the Earth, literately.

That is all for now. I am watching some videos. BYE!

2nd West Zone Junior Science Whiz Competition

What a long name for some easy competition. I don't mean it is really really easy but seriously, most of the questions are just a little more challenging than those we are taking for exams. Now you got an idea of it?

Although I am lucky enough to get selected for this competition over Melissa, I think I am also quite unlucky to be the ONLY girl among the six people. Yes, I don't have any problem with my eyes, but all others are really boys! Well, there are some supporters too, but they are from average classes and I do not know the girls. Not even one. HOW I WISH THEY REPLACE ONE, JUST ONE OF THE BOYS WITH YU XIN OR MELISSA!!! At least I would have company.

There are three rounds in all but only two of them are counted

  • Individual Round - Test paper with 40MCQs and 20 OEs within one hour
  • Team Round - the six people are divided into groups of three and we are suppose to complete 2 hands-on activities within one hour
  • Audience Round - the audience, which are acually the pupils could answered questions and win prizes

The first two are counted while the others are not. And you want the result?

  • Ying Yilun, Supreme Science Whiz, Champion Award (Round 1)
  • Team 2 of our school, Champion Team, Gold Award (Round 2)

And the only thing we got for snacks is the hollow center bread. And I only got home at] 8pm. I AM SO TIRED!

BTW, the champion team made up of me and two otehr idiots. I GOT A TROPHY! HOORAY!
